For the first time, the 2019 Scripps National Spelling Bee has a custom-designed trophy featuring designs that highlight the history of the spelling bee. And it was created by Cincinnati’s own Rookwood Pottery.
The Bee unveiled the Scripps Cup during the Bee’s Opening Ceremonies, on May 27 in National Harbor, Maryland. The design “celebrates a combined legacy of hard work and recognition of talent,” Rookwood said.”

The grand opening celebration will take place July 13-14. Rookwood’s open-air store joins Kenwood’s southwestern wing, with neighbors Anthropologie and Tiffany & Co. near the interior entrance to Nordstrom."
